Holiday letting security checks, out of season or in-season come to think of it – whatever gives you peace of mind. We know that concerns for the security of your property are one of the most important to our owners. That’s why we offer a security check service.
Whether you need us in the winter in the pouring rain, or a quick check because you think something’s been left open – we’re never far away.
Out-of-season holiday letting security checks
During the Winter season (sometimes known as ‘low’), we don’t expect your property to have regular bookings. We know that this can be a cause of worry for some owners. As some of our owners live hours away from their property, it’s good to know that we can there in no time at all.
Whether you opt for regular weekly checks to ad-hoc, all you have to do is ask. We can add it to your account and plan it in at regular intervals. We even fit them in around your existing bookings.
Why 7 days? Well, it’s what we recommend based on our experience and it’s not the same time every week. By doing them at random we can ensure irregular visits to deter any unwanted attention. Also, some insurance policies for properties require a visit regularly to keep their cover active.
What’s checked?
As part of our service we enter the property to check that every room is safe and secure. This offers additional peace of mind as we can spot leaks and other problems too.
If you’d like to see something in your property, we can even talk to you via a video call. That way, you can see what we can see. Not only handy for peace of mind, but useful if you’re assessing damage and need to make a quick decision. Or alternatively we can send you a clip along with details of any queries we have for you.
All entries into your property will be recorded so we can pass these details on to owners, insurance companies, tradespeople and even the emergency services.
What if there’s an incident?
Luckily, incidents such as floods and fires within properties are rare. But our team are here to help during these events too, acting as a contact point between you and any third parties. We can retain your insurer’s information too to begin a claim and even arrange emergency works, in the event your property requires immediate attention. This can prevent further damage.
During recent weather events in Weymouth & Portland where waves crashed over the sea wall, our teams pro-actively checked properties. If you’re signed up for regular checks – we would check on your property during (providing it is safe to do so) or immediately after this type of event.
Similarly, your neighbouring properties can contact us with any concerns and you can lodge our details with emergency services as the local contact point too.
