Kearney Cottage
Fortuneswell, Portland, Dorset, United KingdomAbout this self-catering holiday accommodation...
Kearney Cottage in Fortuneswell, Portland combines 200 years of history with a stunning location. With partial sea views from the living accommodation, you are minutes away from the sun, sea and sunsets…
Split over three floors, it features an open plan living and dining area with a rear courtyard garden. Plus if you’re looking to enjoy the evenings there is a summerhouse in the garden too.
Whether you are looking to explore the island or roam further afield it is a perfect base for groups and families. Kearney Cottage is certainly easy to find too, next to St. John’s Church on Portland on the one-way system. This means you’re just seconds away from the nearest bus stop.
Due to the quaint nature of the island, car parking is a short walk away at the Hambro car park. There is on-street overnight nearby but this can’t also be guaranteed (check restrictions). Don’t worry though there’s a Co-op across the road and you’re a few minutes walk from pubs and restaurants too.
As we mentioned, the house is 200 years old plus, which means there are quite a few stairs. This may make is unsuitable for very small children and those with mobility issues. Feel free to check with us before booking!

Great place for our short stay in Portland. A short walk to the beach, to a lovely pub (Cove Inn – recommended!) and to the start of a great walk around Portland.
Great communication from our host. We found the place clean and functional with some nice quirks. A good base for our adventures.
It’s a short drive to The Beehive bakery – also recommended!
